Mirik
This hill resort almost midway between Darjeeling and Siliguri is
centered around the Sumendu Lake. Landscaped gardens, and pleasant climate
through out the year make Mirik an attractive tourist spot.
The main attraction of Mirik is Sumendu Lake situated at the centre of the
town. This 1.25 km long lake has been formed by collecting and damming the
rain and spring water. Rameetya Dara and Deosi Dar are two points near the
lake from where the rolling plains as well as snow-capped mountains can be
seen. Both the sunrise and sunset are breathtaking from here.
